Main Aspects of Job:

•    Will have primary responsibility for the financial data for the KBC Indian entity and ensuring its completeness and accuracy for monthly reporting
•    Be responsible for all tax related matters for KBC India and for permanent establishments created in India by other KBC group companies
•    To ensure compliance with all statutory tax and audit requirements for KBC India
•    Will provide taxation advice specific to India to the wider KBC Group

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Audit Related and Internal Control

•    Manage the year end audit process, liaising with auditors in respect of the audit of the company financial statements
•    Assist in the preparation of the company financial statements
•    Assist in creating and maintaining formal documentation of procedures and processes and ensure compliance with Group processes
•    Ensure compliance with FEMA

Taxation

•    Ensure that all statutory corporate and GST tax requirements are complied with on a timely basis including Corporate tax computations, Advance Tax Payments, GST returns, TDS filings, Transfer Pricing reports for KBC India and for Permanent Establishments created by other KBC group companies
•    Maintain up to date knowledge of changes in local tax laws. Advise UK management of changes in tax laws relating to corporate tax, GST and TDS
•    Provide strategic input related to tax matters which may impact decision making within the wider KBC group
•    Develop and maintain relationships with local tax advisors and tax auditors


Other responsibilities

•    Responsible for one direct report in the Mumbai office. Supervise and provide necessary guidance on all local accounting related matters
•    Direct contact for local advisors including the bank, statutory auditors and tax advisors
•    Review journal postings made by the Accountant for purchase invoices and expense items
•    Review of month-end balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations, prepayments and accruals
•    Review and approve payment requests
•    Provide monthly cash flow forecasts to Head Office
•    Assist with the procurement of bank guarantees as and when required.
•    Provide support to the sales team for financial data required when preparing bid documents
•    Assist in providing analysis and input in the annual budget process
•    Assist in ad-hoc tasks and projects, which typically have a commercial focus and exposure to senior management
•    Other duties as delegated by Group Tax Assistant Manager and/or Group Financial Controller
    

Position Requirements:    

•    Must be a Chartered Accountant or have a recognised equivalent qualification
•    Experience with Indian tax requirements
•    An expert Excel user
•    SUN systems experience would be desirable
•    Good organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (excellent English skills, both written and oral) and the ability to deal with colleagues and clients professionally
•    Excellent analytical skills
•    Self-motivated, pro-active approach and ability to think independently
•    Display a high level of professionalism towards colleagues and as an ambassador of the company
